Jesse Owens Museum is a state of the art museum which pays tribute to the life and successes of the legendary Olympian Jesse Owens at his birthplace in Oakville, AL. The museum highlights both the athletic and humanitarian aspects of his life. A rare documentary features Jesse himself narrating footage from the 1936 Berlin Olympics in which he won four gold medals in track and field debunking Hitler’s Aryan Supremacy theory. An interactive long jump offers an opportunity for young and old alike to compete with Jesse’s gold medal distance. A “can’t miss” attraction is the sharecropper birth home replica.
